The best credit card for hotels in Osaka.

Why this card

World of Hyatt Credit Card for hotels in Osaka.

Osaka's Expo 2025 left a permanent footprint of new luxury hotels. Marriott runs the W Osaka in Shinsaibashi (Tadao Ando black monolith design) and opened the Sugata Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi in 2025, the first Series by Marriott in Japan. Hyatt has the Hyatt Regency Osaka on the bay and announced a Hyatt Centric for the city. Hilton has the Conrad Osaka, which is one of the better-regarded Conrad redemptions in Asia.

Hyatt Regency Osaka sits in the mid bands of the loyalty chart (Category 3 to 4 under the 2026 dynamic chart) with standard nights around 12,000 to 18,000 points against $200 to $350 cash for a bay-view room. The Chase card's anniversary free night covers a peak Friday cleanly. The Hyatt Regency runs a complimentary shuttle to Osaka Station, which functionally negates the bay-vs-Umeda commute argument. If you want the Shinsaibashi entertainment district instead, pair this card with a Marriott Bonvoy Bevy and use the 50K free night cert at Sugata.

Alternative: Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card.

Conrad Osaka prices around 95,000 to 110,000 points a night against $400 to $600 cash and the Aspire's Diamond status gets you the executive lounge which is a meaningful $80 to $100 daily saving in central Osaka. The $400 Hilton resort credit is harder to use at a city Conrad, so plan a Conrad Bali or Conrad Tokyo stretch to absorb it on the same trip.

Not the right card for hotels in Osaka: American Express Platinum.

Osaka's Fine Hotels and Resorts inventory is thinner than Tokyo's. The Platinum's Centurion Lounge benefit also does not extend to Kansai International. Use the Platinum for the flight in, not the hotel stay.

Local tip

What to know before you book.

Osaka's post-Expo hotel pipeline is heavy: an InterContinental, Kimpton, and Holiday Inn Resort triple-branded complex is set to open in 2026 with 817 keys, and an MGM Osaka integrated resort is in the longer pipeline. Expect aggressive opening rates in late 2026 if any of the IHG properties go live on schedule. The classic Hyatt Regency Osaka is on the bay (Suminoe ward) not in the Umeda or Namba core, which is a 20-minute taxi or 30-minute train, so factor that into your itinerary.
