The widely shared '47k round-trip to Europe' is a myth: 47k is the single-partner economy price for the 8,001 to 10,000 mile band, roughly Japan to India or SE Asia, not Europe. On Finnair or BA metal, JAL passes their fuel surcharges, which pushes fees up.

How we picked these

Every entry is a specific redemption that consistently delivers above 2 cpp (most return 3-15 cpp). We exclude paper sweet-spots that look great on charts but never have award space (looking at you, Korean Air SkyPass).

Cash equivalents are floors, not peaks. The Etihad First A380 reads "$10,000" because paid tickets routinely clear $10k-$15k; we use the floor so the cpp math is conservative.
