Cruise ship arrivals in Nassau (often 4 to 6 mega-ships per day) make downtown unpleasant from 10 AM to 4 PM. Stay at a resort (Baha Mar, Atlantis, or Cable Beach) and only go downtown in the evening after ships depart. Bahamian dollar is pegged 1 to 1 with US dollar, so use either currency interchangeably.
